Building Science Engineer / EIT
Reserve fund studies, depreciation reports and property condition assessments. Site inspections of roofs, envelopes, parkades and mechanical systems, component inventories, cost analysis and report writing.
We are a small firm doing two kinds of engineering that most firms keep apart. That makes for unusually varied work, and for engineers who understand a property rather than just one system in it.
We are not the largest firm you could join, and we are straightforward about what that means: less structure, more responsibility, and your work reaching the client largely as you wrote it.
Openings vary through the year. These are the positions we recruit for, and we keep applications on file between them.
Reserve fund studies, depreciation reports and property condition assessments. Site inspections of roofs, envelopes, parkades and mechanical systems, component inventories, cost analysis and report writing.
Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessments, Records of Site Condition, and soil and groundwater investigations. Historical records review, site reconnaissance, borehole and monitoring well supervision, and reporting.
Keeping studies moving: document collection from property managers, scheduling inspections, tracking deliverables and deadlines, and preparing draft reports for engineering review.
Supporting inspections and site investigations, taking measurements and photographs, logging observations and assisting with sampling. A good route into the profession for a student or recent graduate.
Worth knowing before you apply, because it suits some people and not others.
Send us your details and tell us which role interests you. Applications are welcome at any time, whether or not a position is posted — when something opens we go back through recent applications first.

Yes. Field technician and student roles are a regular route into the firm, particularly over the summer inspection season.
Yes. Experience is logged under licensed Professional Engineers, and candidates work directly with the engineer who seals the report rather than at a remove from it.
Both. Most weeks include site inspections and report preparation. The balance shifts through the year, with more field work in the warmer months.
For most roles, yes. Properties are spread across a wide service area and site visits are a routine part of the work.
